10 – 12 September 2021 | Hayling Island
Europe’s No. 1 Kitesurfing and Live Music Festival is back with a bang this year!
Here’s some pre-event press info from the Kitesurfing Armada organisers ahead of the event kicking off this weekend:
Not only will this year’s Kitesurfing Armada on Hayling Island boast a new bigger site but a more exciting music line-up than ever, led by 90’s band Dodgy.
Playing host to the British Kitesurfing Championships, the event will welcome many big names from the ever-growing world of kitesurfing, led by Pro kitesurfer Lewis Crathern and featuring World Champions and International Riders like Aaron Hadlow and Ruben Lenten. Renowned brands including Duotone, North Kiteboarding and Cabrinha will be there to showcase and demonstrate the very latest kitesurfing equipment.
Festival goers can expect all the usual delicious festival food, a stonking live music and DJ line-up, as well as on-land entertainment including slacklining, circus skills, power kite sessions and beach yoga. The local schools will also be encouraged to come along on Friday to the Big Schools Day to learn more about sustainable wind energy and discover ways how to take greater care of our planet.
The whole festival site will operate a zero single-use plastic policy; encouraging visitors to take advantage of reusable festival cups and a special space on site will once again be made for a very special guest Nellie – the plastic-guzzling the fish from local charity Final Straw Foundation.
This year, we’re also delighted to partner with Barratt Homes as presenting partner of the Armada. Barratt are launching a new collection of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes on the island in Autumn 2021 and are therefore keen to support events and activities going on in the local community.
Tammy Bishop, Barratt Homes Sales Director, Southampton Division, is pleased to support this world-class event for the people of Hayling Island. She said: “We want to support the communities in which we’re building, and it’s fantastic that we can support this world-class event for local people. “After events like this have had to be postponed during the pandemic, it’s wonderful that people can get back together for some festival-filled fun.”
Tickets are on sale now for day or whole weekend passes for the festival on September 10th-12th
