The latest moves being made on Maui
It’s been an exciting period for the Cabrinha crew with their 2019 product launch and a relocation of their HQ back to Maui. There have also been some changes among both the management, design team and pro riders. Here’s the latest!
NICK JACOBSEN LEAVES THE CABRINHA INTERNATIONAL TEAM
After a shock announcement, Nick Jacobsen will no longer be riding for Cabrinha. His next sponsor is as yet unclear but we’re sure he’ll be a pretty huge signing in this year’s pro kiter transfer window!
TOM BRIDGE JOINS
“I’m really excited to have Tom onboard. His creative approach to kitesurfing and foil boarding is fresh and unique. His innovative mindset pairs well with Cabrinha’s constant pursuit of progression.”
– Pete Cabrinha
Tom is the youngest of the UK’s Bridge Clan – the first family of kiting – and his mum Steph and brothers Guy and Olly are among the top foil racers in the world. Tom’s always been focused on freestyle though and started riding at a very early age and it was abundantly clear from early on that he had the drive and determination to make a name for himself. A former British champion, a KOTA competitor and a solid rider on the international youth circuit, it’ll be exciting to see what he achieves with Cab’s backing.
BRODIE SUTHERLAND JOINS THE DESIGN TEAM IN MAUI
Brodie joins the Product Development team as Designer/Engineer at the Cabrinha headquarters on Maui. Growing up in the windy Columbia River Gorge, he has been around the sport of kiteboarding all his life. While attending school at California Polytechnic State University, he enjoyed building and testing his own kite and surf boards. In the last year and a half Brodie has been working in the unmanned aircraft industry in Hood River, Oregon. His passion for the sport of kiting has brought him to Maui where his hands-on skills and design experience makes him a valuable addition to the team.
