KITEWORLD RPM INTRO

Slingshot’s press release heralding the launch of an apparently all new RPM has the header, ‘From Slack to Soar’. Here at KW we’ve always respected the RPM as one of the safest, strongest and easiest kites to ride and feel secure in any conditions, most notably in strong winds but also for its wave cross-over ability. Combine that with the fact that as a dream handle-pass machine it has also claimed a stack of freestyle World Championship title wins, then you have quite a unique specimen. However, as freeriders we always felt that we’d have liked it to have more of a punchy lift overhead to make it a real contender in the all-round freeride market for riders looking for easy and lofty boost. The news from Slingshot on the latest RPM, which has just been released, sounds fantastic to us. Here it is:

THE SLINGSHOT RPM 2019

For years, the RPM was fine-tuned to load, pop and go slack in the air before re-engaging. We had the tuning down to a science and it helped give multiple freestyle world champions their medals. Our mission with the 2019 RPM was to change that – not to eliminate anything – but to shift the kite’s tuning to where we see the sport shifting. At the level the RPM is designed for, that means bigger, better, loftier in-air performance. From slack to soar, the 2019 RPM is the world’s go-to kite for versatile freeride performance.
