Crossing For Cancer

Crossing for CancerOn Saturday the 12th of July at midday Graham Pagden and 3 friends took of from the beach in Tarifa to sail across the Straights of Gibralter. Here is what happened...  The ride was pretty smooth most of the way, the wind was not quite as strong as we hoped for so progress was a bit slower but we made it across in 45 mins to be welcomed on the other side by some camels and a bunch of really nice kids giving us soft drinks. Unfortunatly we could not spend too much time there as we had not entered the country through customs so we were not supposed to land at all!!
We will be putting a video out on our website www.crossing4cancer.com and hopefully have some more photos out soon. Due to the very rough seas unfortunatly the video is a bit rough although our camera man did an amazing job seeing as most of the way he was being drenched by waves!!!

Crossing for CancerGraham Pagden who is 38 years old and has been kitesurfing for 6 years organised the crossing to raise money for a charity close to his heart as his sister died of cancer two years ago. He had the the idea to raise the money by doing what is his passion, a great challenge he had always s dreamed of doing to Kitesurf from Tarifa to Morocco!

We would like to say thank you to everybody for all their support and donations and look forward to the next one in maybe 2009 Canary Islands to Morocco ( about a 9 hour trip)
