THE HYPE: The Rebel is the definitive free-ride kite. Equally at home in the hands of surf junkies or flat water fiends, the Rebel is a kite that will work in all conditions. Smooth, predictable power development and reduced sheeting force will give you the confidence to push your riding to new levels or simply cruise with comfort and ease. The Rebel is soft and powerful to get you up and going in light winds, yet remains incredibly stable when the wind picks up. Excellent steering even with the kite depowered makes it easy to keep the kite flying overhead and positioned precisely where you want it as you set up for your next off-the-lip. A slight increase in the leading-edge sweep, together with the addition of relaunch bungies to the back pigtails, prevents line snags and makes re-launching the Rebel easier than ever!
TEST TEAM SUMMARY: Possibly the most cruisey kite North have ever produced. Steady and predictable, the Rebel is very easy to use, isn't going to run away with you and has all the power and depower beginners and intermediates would want. Tanks upwind and while it isn't the most electric feeling kite in its turning speed, the steering is direct and the kite will facilitate good riding progression with its uncomplicated performance. No real bells and whistes like one pump, so it's even simple in that respect. Simple, cruisey, safe, good relaunch and excellent build-quality.
