The usual high standard of accessories, fixtures and fitting from Naish accompanied by one of the most accomplished, stable and responsive wings on the market. Neat, tidy, friendly and yet, fierce.
The 2007 Torch maintains its reputation as the world’s number one power freestyle kite. This year’s Torch combines rapid turning and light steering with a new 'swept wing-tip' design that allows improved depower capabilities. Aimed at performance freestyle riders, the Torch 3 features a refined design and improved construction for more efficient flying and increased durability. The 2007 model also has a consistent and predictable power band, delivering fast flying and precise ‘pop on demand'. Its speed and effortless rotation make it the ideal choice for perfecting the most challenging manoeuvres. Without question, the 2007 Torch is the most technically perfect performance kite in existence.
TEST TEAM NOTES:
GEORGE: Naish have really refined this puppy this year. It's a classic.
WILL: The bar is real quality, everything's tucked away and it's really comfortable on your hands. A really slick bit of kit. The pull-pull depower is nice and easy to use, too.
GEORGE: The whole system gives a lot of depower but you must push the stopper away, and the kite does deform a bit when you push away too much as there are no mini-battens in the leading edge to maintain shape.
SHINN: It's got one pump too, which is fine. We had to adjust the lines first go to get it flying properly and then change them again to trim it, but once we had it set-up right, what a kite!
GEORGE: It's insanely fast. It's so responsive you can really vary the turn, making it great for tentative kite loopers and F16ers alike. Crank the bar and the kite will loop harmlessly on the spot or you can really draw the loop out for height and some serious whip.
WILL: You know where it is all the time.
SHINN: Not only that, but it's so light in your hands unhooked. You have very precise control. Not the most powerful C kite, but still with plenty under the bonnet, and very stable, too. Chicken loop isn't the biggest and if you wanted to customise and put a bigger one on, it looks like you'd have to replace a lot of the system. This is one of the most adept freestyle kites I've used.
WILL: Sweet piece of freestyle kit.
